According to the Baltimore Sun yesterday, Maryland reported that PARCC testing saved the state more than 2.5 million dollars compared to previous statewide assessments. They administered 1.3 Million tests to 80 percent of the student population.
The 2015 Bammy nominees have been announced! The Bammys celebrate various facets of education. Two of the nominees are Arkansas’ own founder of ArkEdChat, Daisy Dyer Duerr!! Also nominated is Ben Honeycutt and Connor Janzen. You might remember Ben’s name from the conversation we had with his dad, Kevin Honeycutt about the Open World Project. That is awesome! The Bammy awards ceremony will take place on September 28. Good luck to both of these great education influencers!

Google App Feature of the week
Disable downloading, printing, and copying of any Google Drive file

With Information Rights Management (IRM), people using Google Drive can now disable downloading, printing, and copying from the advanced sharing menu―perfect for when the file you’re sharing contains sensitive information that you don’t want shared broadly or leaked. This new option is available for any file stored in Google Drive, including documents, spreadsheets, and presentations created with Google Docs. To enable this feature, open the sharing dialogue from any Google document, spreadsheet, presentation, or other file in Drive on the web and click on Advanced in the lower right hand corner. Check the ‘Disable options to download, print, and copy for commenters and viewers’ box and click Save changes. This functionality is also available through API.
