We talked about the Bammys last week. They recently announced they have suffered a loss in sponsorships and partnerships so they will not be live streaming the event this year. Instead, they will stream showcase awards via prerecorded set pieces. The Bammy showcase awards are set to take place on September 28. Bammy organizers are hoping to have things resolved for next year’s event.

Featured Artist of the week The Shane Howard Band.
This Shane Howard should not be confused with the singer/songwriter Shane Howard from Australia. The Shane Howard we’re showcasing today comes from Riesel, Texas. He actually used to perform with a group called Rampage back in the late 80’s/early 90’s. Like most bands, things came and things went, and ultimately Shane formed his own group, The Shane Howard Band. Over the last decade or so, even this group has seen certain members come and go, but Shane has stuck with it the whole time. They’ve actually opened for folks like Pat Green, Travis Tritt, John Conlee, and a slew of others.
David’s history: I met Shane several years ago through Kevin Honeycutt. The band was playing a gig at one of the conferences I was attending. Fast forward a couple years, and I had the opportunity to hop up on stage and play bass while Shane, Kevin, and the band jammed out. I use the term “play bass” very loosely here. By the time it was all said and done, they had taken control of my volume and made sure that I was basically seen and not heard! I had no idea what I was doing, but as I’ve said before, when Kevin works his ways, you end up on stage.
Well, the song we have for you today is from the band’s latest release, “Rattlesnake Road.” Here is “My Town,” from the Shane Howard Band.
